Dance at NFM: Akram Khan Dance Company – Until the Lions

Akram Khan is one of the most recognised and respected dance artists.

Akram Khan is one of the most recognised and respected dance artists. For sixteen years now, he has been collecting awards and developing as an artist in Great Britain and worldwide. His success is largely due to a number of imaginary, relevant and palatable productions such as DESH, iTMOi, Vertical Road, Gnosis and zero degrees.

He is also praised for his professional and friendly attitude and an intuitive approach that has won him as a variety of frends from different cultures and different disciplines. Akram Khan has collaborated with the National Ballet of China, actress Juliette Binoche, ballerina Sylvie Guillem, choreographers Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Israel Galvàn, singer Kylie Minogue, visual artists Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley and Tim Yip, writer Hanif Kureishi and composers Steve Reich, Nitin Sawhney, Jocelyn Pook and Ben Frost.

Akram Khan's repertoire is considered to be deeply moving and his well-conceived approach to story-telling is both intimate and epic. Described as a fantastic story-teller by "The Financial Times", Khan contributed to the London Olympic Games 2012 Opening Ceremony, which was met with a lot of acclaim.
