It is in keeping with Wrocław's local tradition that the residents of Wrocław and their eminent guests convene on 1 May to make yet another attempt at breaking the Guinness Guitar World Record, which is already the city's show-piece all over Europe. For years, the world's best results have been to Wrocław's credit, with 7,356 guitars playing in unison last year, which is the world's new official record!

Hey Joe

All you need to do to join the Guinness Guitar World Record is have a guitar and be familiar with five basic chords C/G/D/A/E to play "Hey Joe" by Jimi Hendrix. The event starts in Wrocław's Rynek at 10 am. The participants are in for a selection of concerts from guitar virtuosi and a joint attempt at breaking the guitar world record.

The participants can register by 3.45 pm, which is followed by a dress rehearsal of "Hey Joe". Right at 4 pm begins the official attempt at setting the Guinness Guitar World Record 2017. Admission is free of charge.

More than guitars

All kinds of guitars can join in the attempt, and other string instruments are also welcome, including the ukulele, mandolin, banjo and balalaika. If you bring an electric guitar you will be able to plug in your amplifier, but please bear in mind to bring your own extension lead. Guitarists below 18 years of age are welcome.
