Accordionist Richard Galliano and guitarist Sylvain Luc are an extraordinary duo. Mrs. Guitar and Mr. Accordion, as they are sometimes called, met already in the 1990s and have often performed together since then. They lost touch over the years, but never abandoned the idea of further collaboration. As a result of their common fascination with the repertoire of two icons of French music – Édith Piaf and Gus Viseur – the musicians met again and started to work on the album ‘La Vie En Rose’ in 2014.
During the Guitar Masters 2016 festival, Richard Galliano & Sylvain Luc will play a concert ‘Hommage À Édith Piaf’. The title says it all. The duo will pay tribute to their beloved singer Édith Piaf by presenting their interpretations of songs sung by her. The unusual harmony between musicians on stage, their deep mutual understanding and undisputable virtuoso skills will guarantee an unforgettable evening to the audience of the festival. The versions of Piaf’s famous songs will be improvised, but they will retain their spirit.
