Lao Che in NFM

Their idea for music is based on a continuous search of new forms of expression and the discovery of new sound possibilities of old analogue instruments.

Lao Che is a band from Płock founded in 1999. They have released six albums since then. Their idea for music is based on a continuous search of new forms of expression and the discovery of new sound possibilities of old analogue instruments. The band is noted for concept-albums such as ‘Gusła’, ‘Gospel’, ‘Powstanie Warszawskie’ or the latest album ‘Dzieciom’.

Although the title of the latest release refers to Jan Brzechwa and his poems for children, it is by no means an album for children. It is addressed to adult children, those who have children and all of those who were children in the past. The group's vocalist and lyricist Spięty presents profound issues of everyday life in a concerned and slightly didactic fashion, which creates a contrast with the musical layer. It is the most spontaneous and vigorous album recorded by the band so far, and it contains very melodious and songful tunes. The album was produced by Piotr “Emade” Waglewski.
