The first female supergroup from Africa, Les Amazones d’Afrique, consists only of great world music stars: Malian artists Kandia Kouyaté, Mamani Keita, Rokia Koné, Mariam Doumbia (half of Amadou & Mariam duo), Mariam Koné, Mouneïssa Tandina, Pamela Badjogo, Inna Modja.

Les Amazones d’Afrique is a voice of strong women who talk about contemporary problems of female Africans and stress the urgent need for social changes and fight against violence. It is not only an artistic but also engaged project – as we can read in the artists’ manifesto, they believe that music can change the world for the better by stimulating people’s sensivity and inviting them to reflection.
The line-up of Les Amazones d’Afrique includes both great ladies of traditional Malian music and representatives of modern sounds, such as R&B (Inna Modja) or reggae and soul (Nneka, often compared to Lauryn Hill). We will surely hear and see an exceptional dose of feminine energy on the stage of NFM.
