PHOTOGRAPHY NEVER DIES: photos present photography

PHOTOGRAPHY NEVER DIES - an exhibition of photographs on photography kicks off in the space of the Main Railway Station in Wroclaw.

PHOTOGRAPHY NEVER DIES - an exhibition of photographs on photography kicks off in the space of the Main Railway Station in Wroclaw. Even before the Polish première, the exhibition is desired by the most significant museums in Moscow and Hamburg. The exhibition presents, e.g. the first developed photo, the first selfie, the first image left on the moon and the first digital photography.

The host is Visual Arts of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016.

The exhibition is divided into eight parts, including icons of world of photography, as well as contemporary artistic projects, snaps from private archives and photos from internet portals. It is eight overview artistic projects, featuring 10 artists from 6 countries. Some of the most interesting are the works of the duo Jojakim Cortis & Adrian Sonderegger, who built in their Swiss atelier a special stage design and reconstructed the famous photos. starting from Nicéphore Niépce's 1827 view from the window, to the burning World Trade Center captured by John del Giorno September 11, 2001. A strong point will be the work by Erik Kessels. It is a personal story about the death of his nine-year old sister. The testimony of her life became the last photograph found in the family album, which gained the status of family icon. Erik embeds this photo in many new contexts and on multiple media, so his sister - so the author believes - will live forever.
