St. Elisabeth Minor Basilica (The Garrison Church)

Data utworzenia: 2016-01-15

The garrison church is one of the most important city churches and one of the symbols of Wrocław. The basilica was destroyed many times but it has always been restored to its original splendour and beauty.

The temple belongs to the military parish. It is a place of prayer, religious and patriotic celebrations, ecumenical praying meetings, exhibition, concerts and theatrical events.

Within the Gothic walls, typical for Silesian sacral architecture, one can see a rich collection of exceptional pieces of art: stone epitaphs and sculptures, the early baroque altar, a remarkable sacramentarium, Gothic stall, pulpit and matroneum for the 18th century ruler of Silesia.

The information comes from the website www.kosciolgarnizon.wroclaw.pl.
