Where to spend romantic time during Valentine’s Day? We show places worth visiting with sweethearts.

The romantic atmosphere can be in many places in Wrocław but we recommend places worth visiting not only during summer when a city is full of green but also in the winter. All you need is outerwear and thermal mug.

Tumski Bridge and Ostrów Tumski

Ostrów Tumski is the most magical place for sweethearts, it’s recommended even for the foreign tourists. In the evening there is lamplighter who gives the special atmosphere to that place. Visitors will have a chance to visit small lanes and go to botanical garden and cathedrals. There is a special place that leads to Ostrów Tumski – probably the heaviest bridge in Wrocław. It is not the heaviest bridge because of its construction, but because of love locks locked to a bridge. Love lock can be bought in Ostrów Tumski but we recommend to buy a plastic version to unweight the bridge.

South Park

On of the biggest parks in Wrocław. In Winter, one of the most climatic and beautifully lighted place. It is recommended to go for a romantic walk and visit the memorial of Frédéric François Chopin. His works are considered by connoisseur and directors from Hollywood to be romantic. It is known that composer was in love with Wrocław.

Four Domes Pavilion

Historical and symbolical place. Now it is full of design, romantic for people who love art. It was a place of movie sets with Zbyszek Cybulski and place, where Wojciech Jerzy Has fell in love with Panna Jadwiga who became his wife. After reconstruction, the pavilion has changed its purpose – it is the Wroclaw Contemporary Museum now. Romantic surprise – there is café with a glass roof. Firstly you can invite your lover to a fantastic exhibition and then talk drinking coffee. Good museum influences on lovers like an aphrodisiac. In Woody Allen’s movie, tennis player (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) want telephone number of the attractive woman (Scarlett Johansson) and decide to follow her in Tate Modern museum in London and in the background of one of the works of modern art, he reaches his goal.

Fountain with lions on Jana Pawła II square

A landmark, beautiful during a day but after dark beautifully lighted place. It is interesting that athletes fought with lions are an allegory of Fight and Victory. Because as Roman apothegm says, Love wins everything, it is worth to look at winning lion. It’s as meek as a lamb. Then visitors should go for a walk to romantic footbridge of Saint Antoni. Wroclavian journalist Wanda Ziembicka used to go here on dates. In the past year, footbridge played very important role in Bridges of the European Capital of Culture program. The footbridge was full of dance and singing.

Penitent Bridge

It is a proposal for people with the good physical condition because we have to go through 247 steps to a Penitent Bridge. A view is incredible. Every person will be amazed by the panorama of the city.

Old Town Park

It’s beautiful place in the summer, In winter – just charming and an oasis of calm in the city center. Not for a long walk (the garden is small) but romantic. Sculpture by Theodor von Gosen with Amor who sits on Pegasus fills the romantic atmosphere. It is an allegory of love and poetry. From park, we can go also to memorial of Nicolaus Copernicus. There are spheres in different size around the astronomer. It refers to planets. Professor Leon Podsiadły carved heliocentric solar system on his chest.
