Al Di Meola
is an American guitarist regarded as one of the pioneers of jazz, rock and world music. His career spans more than four decades, and the heart of his music is fascination with complex rhythm synchronisation combined with the provocative lyrical tune and sophisticated harmony.
The winner of a Grammy award has won international fame as a solo musician, at the same time collaborating with Frank Zappa, Jimmy Page, Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Paco De Lucia, John McLaughlin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Stanley Clarke, Luciano Pavarotti, Paul Simon, Phil Collins, Santana, Steve Winwood, Herbie Hancock, and other stars.
Al Di Meola has received the biggest number of awards in various guitar categories from the Guitar Player Magazine and other music magazines.
The artist continues to set new challenges for himself and his music, to go beyond his borders and to rediscover himself every time.

“With Opus I wanted to further my compositional skills as I think that the evolution of this part of my persona has labeled me more composer/guitarist than guitarist/composer. At the same time this record also marks a new era in my life. For the first time in my life, I have written music being happy, I’m in a wonderful relationship with my wife, I have a baby girl and a beautiful family that inspires me every day. I believe it shows in the music.”
