Between Life and Death. Stories of Rescue During the Holocaust

The exhibition presents accounts of persons who came to the rescue and those who received that help during World War II.

The exhibition presents accounts of persons who came to the rescue and those who received that help during World War II. It describes their experiences, efforts and motivations and pays particular attention to their acts of courage and their strength of will to survive.

The fates of the heroes from Poland and nine other European countries are shown within a broader historical context. The exhibition explains the conditions that prevailed in the countries under occupation.

It shows also the multi-dimensional relationships and emotional bonds that were born between the rescuers and the rescuees.

The exhibition “Between Life and Death. Stories of Rescue During the Holocaust” is organised by the European Remembrance and Solidarity Network, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and Silent Heroes Memorial Centre.
