King Ayisoba, or the stellar representative of Ghana’s traditional music, is coming to Wrocław to give his one and only show while in Poland, promoting his latest and fantastic record 1000 Can Die. His shows are reported to bring a shaman-like ritual experience. The King of Ghana and his band are going to perform on 28 October at Impart as part of the event Wrocław Meets Africa. Tickets are already available.

King Ayisoba is an absolutely fascinating and charismatic artist. His powerful presence derives from his awe-inspiring image and signature style as a kologo player.

His latest LP was produced by Zea himself (Arnold de Boer from The Ex). The record combines electronic music with hiplife (a very popular Ghanaian style that brings together hip-hop with a local genre called highlife), while featuring a number of stellar performers.  Dapagara brings the Nigerian Orlando Julius on saxophone, while Wine Lange features Sakuto Yongo on gonju, a single-string violin. Both musicians are going to take you into a different reality. The title composition was created in collaboration with a Ghanaian hip-hop artist called M3nsa and the legendary reggae producer Lee Scratch Perry.

The King of Ghana is going to arrive in Wrocław with his band: Abaadongo Adontanga (dance, supporting vocals, dorgo), Ayuune Sulley (sinyaka, supporting vocals), Gemeka Abobe Azure (guluku and dundun drums), Ayamga Francis (djembe and bemne drums). The performance will be followed by a DJ party. Impart’s Kameralna Hall is going to morph into a dancefloor with a tropical sound brought to you by Wrocław-based DJs specialising in African rhythms: Czarny Latawiec and DJ Ryan R.

Tickets are available at presales: 30 PLN (by 28 September), 45 PLN (by 13 October) and 60 PLN (by 28 October).
