Steven Wilson – the leader of Porcupine Tree, as well as a solo artist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and music producer will perform on 12th July in the Centennial Hall.

This will be a concert with a large dose of electric sounds with a rock bite. We can be sure that Wilson will not limit himself to one convention and will lead us to his musical world in which we will find multidimensional rock, as well as jazz, ambient or trip hop.

He created his first band at the age of 15. Even back then, he was inspired by the art rock of the 1970s and the sounds presented by Marillion. In the early years of his activity, Steven recorded some demo tapes under various names.

At the end of the 1980s, still attending school, he created his first projects that allowed him to enter the professional music world: bands called No-Man and Porcupine Tree.

In the 1990s, Steven Wilson also continued to explore various music fields on his own, creating further very experimental projects. Another group in which the artist became strongly involved was Blackfield – a duo formed with Israeli musician Aviv Geffen. Steven Wilson thought that their style was similar to the music of Pink Floyd and Radiohead.

However, it was Porcupine Tree that reached the peak of popularity at the beginning of the 21st century. Until the band led by Steven Wilson went on a hiatus in 2013, it had released 10 studio albums and 12 concert albums.

Today Steven Wilson successfully continues his solo career. During 30 years of his musical activity, he has recorded over 100 albums with various bands and contributed to several music releases representing very different styles.
