River Oder Day 2018
On 12th May, the City and Tourism Promotion Office invites Wroclaw inhabitants and tourists to join River Oder Day again.
On 12th May, the City and Tourism Promotion Office invites Wroclaw inhabitants and tourists to join River Oder Day again. As in the previous year, the event will be held on Xawery Dunikowski Boulevard on the Oder from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m.
The event showcases the Oder as a sports and leisure destination, but also as a major part of the environment and economy, and having a good time together is also an opportunity to learn more about our Wroclaw river. And the potential of the Oder is huge – the redeveloped quays offer the possibility of rest and leisure, an increasing number of commercial and watercraft rental points is established in the river area, and many passenger fleet owners sail on the river.
During this year’s River Oder Day, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., a hybrid car will be drawn as the main prize in the raffle "Submit your annual tax return in Wroclaw.”
The programme includes:
- cruises on the Oder
- family kayak regatta
- Viardus Cup academic races on ergometres
- water lifesaving shows
- guided tour of Xawery Dunikowski Boulevard
- sailing and ecological workshops
- scientific experiments
- games for kids
- promotional forest complex
- outdoor exhibitions (on ecology and history)
- performances and competitions on stage
- city game
- food trucks
- artists’ area
- sightseeing tour of the Wroclaw Weir 1 and many other attractions.
The evening will be concluded by a concert of ERITH band, with vocalist Martyna Biłogan performing electropop, psychodelic hippie, electronic, dream pop, folk and experimental music.
