Long Night of Museums has been organized in Wrocław for over 10 years and enjoys unflagging natural beauty.
The first Museum Night was held in Berlin in 1997, and in 2001 it became a pan-European event with around 120 European cities participating. It is always organized on the third weekend of May and is connected with the shops of the Muzealnika Festival. The main purpose of this event is to create a meeting platform for museums and the presentation of art and the public.

Long Night of Museums in Wrocław has been organized for over nine years. Seven museums and one gallery participated in the first edition, coordinated by the Department of Culture of the City of Warsaw City Hall. Thanks to the years, the formula has expanded, galleries, institutions and cultural centers, churches of various denominations, cinemas and other interesting places have been added. 76 institutions (museums, galleries, institutions through NGOs, community centres, New Horizons cinema, National Forum of Music, Hydropolis and others) took part in last year's Long Night of Museums, over 150 events were organized (e.g. vernissages, workshops, film screenings, lectures concerts).
Admission to all events organized as part of the event is free. For some institutions, advance registration is important.

Long Night of Museums is an extremely popular event with a large attendance. There are several reasons. One of the most important is free participation in events, but it is also important to visit associations of friends and acquaintances, as well as the opportunity to meet curators and artists directly. Many institutions prepare a special program of trips, organize workshops and activities for parents with children, which are available from the afternoon.

It is difficult to determine the frequency because it is an unticketed event, but it can be assumed that the museum and gallery are visited by 20,000 people every year. In 2022, only the City Museum of Wrocław during the Night of Museums was visited by over 11,000 people. people, the Museum of Architecture 4,700 people, the Depot History Center 4,600 people.

In 2020 and 2021, due to the pandemic, the event was organized online. There were 21 museums and galleries to visit. During the virtual tour you could see m.in. the City Museum (including the Jewish Cemetery, the Royal Palace), the National Museum, the Mineralogical Museum, and the Natural History Museum. Famous specialists, exhibition curators and artists played the role of guides through the exhibition.
