Giermek Grun-Waldek (Grun-Waldek Squire)
This unusual dwarf does not leave his master. According to the other dwarfs, he needs to look after his knight.
After all, it is sometimes the case that the squire is more courageous than his master. People and dwarfs alike say that the knight who sits in Grunwald Square has come from distant Albion, followed by his faithful Squire. One dwarf, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells us that the proud posture, beautiful armour and flawless features of the knight are only appearances. All his strength lies with this seemingly small Squire, says our interlocutor. Giermek is said to have rescued the knight from trouble more than once. With his cleverness and courage he won him many a duel or tavern quarrel.
He is a real tough guy, he looked after the knight's father and experienced a lot over these 200 years, says the anonymous dwarf. Sometimes one gets the impression that Giermek stays with his master somewhat out of habit. After all, there are dwarven knights in the world and in Wrocław, and it would be better to serve them. However, Giermek has a sense of duty. Someone has to look after this klutz! - he supposedly once said after a few pints of beer.
