Inspektor Pracy – Ipek (Labour Inspector)
In times so distant that no one remembers them anymore, a dwarf appeared in the human world that was the protoplast of all the little creatures, called the Father of All Dwarfs. For a long time he wandered around the world looking for a place where he could settle permanently and begin the reign of his folk in symbiosis with friendly people.
He finally found it in the 1980s in Wrocław. The beginnings were difficult and times were bleak. In order to test people's reactions, the Dwarf of All Dwarfs decided to show his existence to people by drawing his likeness on walls. In order to realise this idea, he appeared at one time in the dream of Waldemar Frydrych i.e. "Major", the head of the Orange Alternative, bringing together positive people. Since then, dwarfs have become a permanent fixture in the minds of Wrocław residents. Until the day came when the dream of the first dwarf came true and, by a decision of the city authorities, the first dwarfs officially appeared on the streets of Wrocław. That was in 2005.
Father Dwarf's heart rejoiced and his little eyes glazed over with tears at the sight of the great kindness of people, locals and tourists, who welcomed with great interest and joy each new dwarf that appeared in the city.
However, he was the only one who knew about the difficult and dangerous working conditions under which his fellow countrymen had to build their legend. There was no one to offer advice and knowledge. Accidents at work were common. The dwarfs, uninformed by anyone, with no regard for their health and lives, often performed their work at a height of up to one metre without any protection!
The matter turned out to be too serious and the costs of rehabilitating the injured dwarfs too high. The Dwarf Father decided to act. He asked a friendly man about how people dealt with dangerous work. Who do they go to for advice?
The man said to him: there is an office, the State Labour Inspectorate. It has its own school in our city, the PIP Training Centre. It is led by people called Labour Inspectors. Seek inspiration there.
The dwarf thought for a moment and decided that was what they needed! We also need to have someone among us who will ensure that the dwarf folk, who are known for their industriousness, have a dwarf supervisor to oversee safe working conditions. He created a Labour Inspector, "IPek”, delegating him to a permanent location, at the Training Centre of the State Labour Inspectorate. From now on, dwarfs and humans can march to work together with a joyful song: hey ho, hey ho, to safe work, here we go!
