The courtyard of the City Arsenal

Data utworzenia: 2018-06-20

It's a charming place, breathing history from every corner, and not only because of the Arsenal's past.

The large, irregular courtyard is surrounded by four buildings of former warehouses, built between the fifteenth and seventeenth century, and two towers, the remnants of the fourteenth century rampart. For centuries they housed, among others, a food storage area and armoury, and from the nineteenth century stables and the artillery warehouse. Part of it included apartments. The decorative fountain in the courtyard dates back to the seventeenth century.

In the summer, the courtyard often hosts outdoor events, concerts, picnics.

Admission on the opening hours of the Museum from ul. Cieszyńskiego 9, Wed-Sat, 10 am - 5 pm, Sun, 10 am - 6 pm.
