Viewpoint tower - Cathedral of St. John Baptist
The top of the 97-metre tower can be reached with a lift. The tower is open between June and September.
The most important church in the archdiocese was built in the 14th century, in Gothic style. However, archaeological examinations showed that the temple was built in the 10th century. The current building was renovated, extended and its interior was reorganised many times. That is why both outside and inside the building there are Renaissance and Baroque elements.
During the Festung Breslau siege in spring 1945, the cathedral was destroyed, the towers, the central nave, the organ and decorations were damaged. The renovation lasted till the end of the 60s, but the domes were installed in the 90s.
