“Zdrój” Fountain

Data utworzenia: 2016-01-15

The Fountain (Fontanna “Zdrój”) was built in 1996, to the project of prof. Alojzy Gryt from the Academy of Fine Arts (Akademia Sztuk Pięknych).

The idea to install a glass and granite object among the antique tenement houses had many contestants, among others the then municipal conservator.

The President of Wrocław, Bogdan Zdrojewski - his surname was an inspiration for the fountain’s name - said that the fountain was going to stay in Rynek for two years. It has been there ever since and is one of the orientation points around which the citizens and tourists meet.

The water circulates in closed circuit so it is not drinking water.
