Let's meet in Wroclaw!

Wroclaw is the economic hub of south western Poland and it’s the capital of Lower Silesia. It’s history dates back well around a thousand years. Being part of different empires including the Kingdom of Poland, Kingdom of Bohemia and that of Prussia, following the Second World War it was transferred back to Poland from Germany. This mixture of influences has left a magical footprint on the city.

Wroclaw may possibly be one of Poland’s most charming and picturesque cities. Nestled both alongside and within the Oder, its centre contains 12 islands connected by 130 bridges. A rainbow of pastel coloured buildings surrounds one of Europe’s largest medieval squares, towering gothic spires rise skywards, and each night a lamplighter sporting a dapper cape and top hat combo traipses the cobblestones to ignite the city’s street lights. Runs and marathons in Wrocław and Lower Silesia in 2018

Jogging continues to be all the rage. The most spectacular of all track and field categories is attracting more and more enthusiasts who treat marathons and half-marathons as their new way of life.

New concessions and fares: public transport from 1 January

New 15-minute fares, group fares, luggage and pets free of charge, more concessions for passengers and only one fare increase. This, in a nutshell, can be found in the latest resolution on the fare pricing by the Wrocław City Council. The new pricing comes into force as of 1 January 2018.

The colours of joy are the guiding idea of the upcoming New Year’s Eve in Wrocław 2017/2018. This year’s line-up features mainly local artists.

Vozilla electric car rental service opens on 4 November

The residents of Wrocław as well as visitors will be able to use Vozilla’s electric car rental service (charged per minute) from the first days of November. The company holds a fleet of 190 Nissan Leaf passenger cars and 10 VAN vehicles. Vozilla charges 1PLN per minute of the rental service.

24th July: Deadlift at the NFM

Real strongmen enter the scene on Monday 24th July. Powerlifting involves three disciplines: Squat, Benchpress and Deadlift. Men’s and Women’s Light and Medium Class will be held from 10.30 am on the Monday.

23rd July: Archery in Szczytnicki Park or Boules Sports at Pergola

On Sunday 23rd July, Frisbee and Sport Climbing come to an end. The three-day climbing competition concludes with Lead Climbing.

21st July: Rock climbing, flying discs and finned dummies

On 21st July, contestants enter competition in this year’s largest sporting event in Poland. What to see? Who to cheer? What to look for?

22nd July: Pétanque at Pergola or Sumo instead?

Speed Climbing starts on 22nd July. All hopes from Polish fans are pinned on European Speed Climbing Champion Marcin Dzieński. Join the crowd to cheer the champion in plac Nowy Targ at 2–2.30 and 5.30–7 pm.
