Public transportation in Wroclaw

The most convenient way to get around Wroclaw is to use public transportation – streetcars and buses. If you are planning a visit to this city, it is worthwhile to get acquainted with basic information about tickets and their prices. You can find all the necessary data below.

The ticketing system is operated by URBANCARD, which is operated by Mint Poland S.A.

Tickets can be purchased in a variety of places: at more than 160 ticket vending machines located throughout the city, at about 200 outlets belonging to the Mint of Poland network, and through mobile applications such as URBANCARD, SkyCash, mPay, Jakdojade and Mobil Solid Solution.

Note

You don't have to look for a kiosk or vending machine - every streetcar has ticket machines where you can pay with a contactless card. These devices also act as a cashier for paper tickets.

Payments at cash registers can be made by card with PayPass technology, by contactless BLIK or by URBANCARD EP cards, which act as an electronic purse – a great option for those who do not use payment cards. URBANCARD EP cards can be purchased at Customer Service Offices (in registered or bearer versions) and at points of sale.

What to do if the cash register in the vehicle does not work?

If the screen of the device shows the message "Malfunction. Ticket counter inoperative" or the screen is completely off - you can continue your trip without worry. Controllers know that the failure has prevented you from buying a ticket. For other messages - try again, the device may have failed temporarily. Remember, problems with the payment card or lack of funds are not considered a justification for not having a valid ticket. Every payment attempt is recorded in the system.

Types of tickets

For visitors to the city, the most useful will be:

Single tickets for all lines – PLN 4.60 (normal), PLN 2.30 (discount)
Timed tickets – available variants: 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes, as well as 24-, 48-, 72- and 168-hour tickets

A single-use ticket allows you to take one bus or streetcar, without changing.

Electronic tickets (including single-use, timed and group tickets) can be purchased directly at the ticket counters in the vehicles – there is no need to additionally punch them. Paper tickets (one-time and temporary) are available at stationary Mint of Poland sales points. Season tickets, on the other hand, can be purchased online at www.urbancard.pl.
