Cruises on the Oder River

It is worth taking advantage of the water attractions, which on a warm day are the best way to visit Wroclaw. In Wroclaw, you can take a cruise on the Oder River on a large cruise ship, smaller boats, modern motor boats and electric boats with solar batteries.

Ships and speedboats are used for events, celebrations, children’s parties and student and corporate events. It’s a popular idea for hen parties and bachelor parties.

You can also admire Wroclaw from the river side during a trip in canoes, rowboats and small motorboats. Water equipment rentals in Wroclaw operate from May until late autumn.

Note

Most of Wroclaw's marinas can be found at Dunikowski Boulevard, Słodowa Island, Piasek Island and the area around Wroclaw University of Technology or the zoo. We can find them through the carrier's website or by choosing the specific type of ship we want to sail on.

The most popular cruise routes on the Oder River

The most popular route connects Ostrów Tumski and the marina at the Wrocław Zoo. Along the way you can admire the panorama of the oldest part of the city, the view of the Grunwald Bridge from underneath is also impressive. The route also leads past the campus of the Wroclaw University of Technology and the historic water tower.

Taking a trip on a larger boat will also take you a bit further, to the vicinity of Opatowicka Island. Smaller boats, as well as galleys, i.e. Wroclaw water streetcars usually travel along the route of the old city, passing the building of Wroclaw University, Piasek Island and the Mill Bridge on the way.

Evening and night cruises on the Oder River are also popular in season, with options for stops at particularly romantic locations, refreshments or live music.

How much time to reserve for a cruise on the Oder River?

Depending on where you want to sail, the duration of the tour can vary. In the carriers’ offers, cruises on the Oder River usually last 25 minutes or an hour.

How much does a cruise on the Oder River cost in Wroclaw?

On average, a boat trip on the Oder River in Wroclaw costs about 50 zlotys per person. This is the amount for the route from Włostowica Boulevard to the zoo and back. The cost increases when you tsart from the Zwierzyniecka harbor – with the necessity of crossing the Szczytniki lock. You can count on discounts for families and large groups.

Renting entire boats for organized groups costs several hundred zlotys per hour of fun.

Gondola Bay

The rental is located at 9 Purkyniego St., near the National Museum building.

The rental shop is open from 10 am until dusk. A photo document must be presented at the time of rental. In case of bad weather (heavy rain, wind and low temperature) the rental shop is closed.

The cost of a two-person kayak for half an hour is PLN 30, for an hour – PLN 40. Gondola Bay is home to Gondola Tavern, an open-air restaurant offering coffee, desserts, beer and lunches. The boat rental at zatokagondoli.pl offers:

Odra Centrum by the Grunwald Bridge

Here you can rent kayaks or pedal boats. Odra Centrum, is an educational and cultural center, whose marina is located right next to the Grunwald Bridge. Cruises and educational rafting trips for schools or groups are also organized there. In exchange for cleaning up the river, you can get an extra free hour by kayak.

To rent a kayak or pedal boat at the Zwierzyniecka Marina, only an ID is required.

There are 1, 2 and 3-person kayaks, 2-person pedal boats, 4-person pedal boats available for rent for 30 or 60 minutes at prices of PLN 25-30 for any kayak or PLN 40-50 for any pedal boat.

Port Osobowice

Street. Osobowicka 70. the opportunity to rent equipment without a license, but with a lot of fun. Renting equipment at Port Osobowice is very easy – all you need is an identity document.

Kayaks (maximum two-person) are available at a cost of £30 for 60 minutes or £150 for a full day.
Pedal boats for 6 people cost £45 for 60 minutes or £200 for a full day. Swan or humpback water bikes (for up to 4 people) are available at the same price.

2. Water Tourism Center Turizmo

Rusalka, Duck, Santa Clara, California, Pirate, Vera Mia, Corsair, Bear, Bolek, Lolek and Tara are a fleet of 11 tourist ships that operate on fixed routes on the Oder River.

4. Cityboats

City Boats organizes solar catamaran cruises on the Oder River through the Old Town and towards the Zoo. On board there is a table, radio, audio guides in several foreign languages. You can take 9 people on a cruise, and larger groups can charter two or three catamarans.

The boats are also used for hen and stag parties, family and business meetings or engagements.

There are white catamarans - ticketed and charter cruises, and a VIP black catamaran - charters only. The catamarans are run by qualified helmsmen.

In addition to ships and catamarans, it is worth taking a trip in a motorboat with a helmsman (max. 4 people). During a cruise with a helmsman you will see the most beautiful places in Wroclaw from the Odra River. Those willing will also be able to try their hand at the helm.
