The Lubomirski Museum at the Ossoliński National Institute

The Ossolineum invites this year’s visitors to sightsee the monastery refectory (the monastery’s old dining room). The main attraction will be the possibility to see baroque paintings from the end of the 17th century which were discovered in 2004 and were uncovered during preservation works.

A series of meetings prepared for adults and children of various ages will help the visitors become more familiar with this beautiful historic interior. Apart from the refectory you can also see baroque prints and modern day prints by Eugeniusz Get-Stankiewicz.

Shedule

• 18:00-19:00 „Baroque word puzzles in the Ossolineum refectory" – iconographic workshops for teenagers and adults. Reservations required - from 8 May 2017: +48 71 355 64 83 /
• 19:30-20:15 History of the order of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star – a story about the Ossolineum building
• 21:00-21:45 „Madonna nursing a Baby” and other „Ossolineum Dürers” – presentation of works made as part of the museum-artistic project „Dürers XX of the Lubomirski family”
• 22:00 - 23:00 guided tour of the refectory, the courtyard and the garden.

Schedule for children

Children ages 7-12 are welcome to come to a meeting about historic instruments which can often be spotted in old paintings and equally often you don't know what to call them. During the meeting in the Ossolineum refectory you will not only see the "angelic instruments" but you will have a chance to see them really up close and even hear how they sound. After that you will never mistake a guitar for a lute!
