On 15th June, the 10th edition of Tumski Cup dragon boat races will take place. The main point of this event is the rivalry of rowing enthusiasts racing on boats that resemble fairy dragons. The event will last from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.

The competition will take place near Xavery Dunikowski Boulevard and will be accompanied by a number of attractions for children and a food truck zone, including:

  • animations for children
  • family picnic
  • food trucks
  • granting of awards and cups.

The first Tumski Cup competition was held in 2010. The idea of organising dragon boat races in Wroclaw was originated by Paweł Rańda – a prize-winning oarsman, the Olympic silver medalist in 2008, and a medalist of world and European championships. The characteristic feature of this competition is that amateurs compete hand in hand with professionals.

Anyone can compete on dragon boats – it is only necessary to register and have the will to complete a few exercises.

The competitors include employees of various Polish companies and non-profit organisations and sportspeople. Each team has to consist of 12 persons.

The length (12.4 m) and appearance of the boat is also important - each boat has to be adorned with a dragon’s head.

We invite you to participate and to support competitors on the start line and the finish line.

Entrance is free.
