After last year’s online festival, it’s time to meet in real life. From September 10 to 12, the organizers – the Department of City Promotion and Tourism – invite you to the Old Town Garden by the Wroclaw Puppet Theater.
As befits a true dwarf team, we had to look truly magical! Kids from kindergartens and elementary schools dressed up as dwarves and joined our events.... You can find the archived program below.
We begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with the traditional dwarf house decorating contest for elementary schools and kindergartens.
Wrocław Dwarf Festival – invitation for schools and kindergartens
On stage we will also see drummers’ concerts and scientific workshops.
Walk “Dwarves in the center of Wrocław”
On Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. – at each full hour – we will show premiere fairy tales about Wroclaw’s dwarfs on the festival stage. This year three short stories about their adventures were prepared by graduates of the Academy of Theater Arts in Wroclaw.
On that day, the Festival will feature a large circus zone, we will invite everyone to workshops on creating dwarf gardens, recycled ornaments or making board games. We will also meet mimes and stilt walkers at the Festival, while painting and drawing zones will be waiting for the youngest.
The family city game “Fashion for Dwarves!” is for family teams of 2 to 6 people. Suggested minimum age of participating children is 7 years old. Reservation of places for the game is required – participation is free, but the number of places is limited. 17.00 Completion of activities for children in the Old Town Garden.
Meet the community of Wroclaw dwarves
In the evening, starting at 8 pm, the organizers invite slightly older dwarves to the Garden – we will start with a show by a young, talented illusionist Bartek Lewandowski. After him, in turn, the stage will be taken over by DJs, who will play music for dancing, but we will hear it only in our ears. Silent Disco, or fun in silence, is already a festival tradition. The show will last until midnight.
On Sunday, the last day of the festival, there will be a joint bonfire and reading of myths and stories at the City Arsenal. A special event has been prepared in cooperation with the City Museum of Wroclaw, where anyone willing will be able to share a myth or story.
