The Silesius International Poetry Festival is a May festival that traditionally takes place every year in Wrocław, the UNESCO City of Literature, more precisely in the Wrocław House of Literature, with the Proza Club as the main stage. The festival is held under different themes, but you can always count on readings of poems out loud, book premieres, debates, workshops and events where music accompanies or complements lyrical works. The festival is all about conversations. You can meet people who have been on the poetry scene for a long time or a little shorter, but also those who are new to this world are invited.
All those interested in poetry (and those not really, but curious about it) should know about the existence of this festival and look for a program of meetings with translators, writers, poets, publicists, literary scholars.
The festival lasts for about five days. Those thirsty for excitement can sit in the audience of the Proza club, which is located in the very center of Wroclaw’s Market Square. Those who prefer the comfort of home will successfully find a digital recording of all the meetings on the YouTube channel.
