Happy birthday, Festivalius! Those who wanted to wish him well could drop by the Old Town Garden from September 27 to 29, where the dwarves set up their village with fairy tales, games, shows and contests.

On Sunday they moved to the market and museums. Here they talked about the attractions they had prepared for the 15th Wroclaw Dwarf Festival.

Top attractions

Dwarf procession

A merry parade featuring a juggler, a gentleman on stilts and a brass band.

Theatrical performances and workshops

A fairy tale with Wroclaw’s dwarf-muppets by graduates of Wroclaw’s PWST. Jas’s dwarf show, or family theater. Mini-cinema with live music – fairy tales for the youngest accompanied by a multi-instrumentalist; Impro mini-performances; fairy tale reading – Wroclaw actors from the Capitol Musical Theater read fairy tales for children.

Joint search for dwarfs

Walk through the market in search of dwarfs (gathering at the Fredro monument). For children aged 5-10 (+ guardians). Registration (Mon-Fri 8am-3pm) at phone no. 71 347 16 90 w. 27

Silent Disco

Dwarf Silent Disco for adult dwarfs from 9 pm evenly until midnight.

Friday in the Old Town Garden

The dwarf procession left from under the Pillory at 10 a.m. on Friday and headed to the Old Town Garden.

On the first day of the festival, the dwarves set up three play zones in the garden:

  1. Dwarf Zoo Zone – the education department of the Wroclaw zoo: “you will learn how to act on a daily basis to protect animals, especially all endangered species.”
  2. Dwarf Great Games, or games for small and large dwarves.
  3. Dwarf Koszalka-Opałka Zone – blocks, wheelbarrows, concrete mixers, dump trucks.

Special Screenings:

  • A fairy tale with Wroclaw dwarves-muppets by graduates of Wroclaw’s PWST
    a show of Jas the dwarf, or family theater.
  • Additional attraction: a birthday dwarf streetcar that will run on Friday from 10 am to 1 pm, starting from the Opera stop.

Saturday in the great village of the dwarfs

On that day, the dwarves set up a village in the Old Town Garden (from 11am to 5pm) with fairy tales and artistic displays.

Attractions:

  • Dwarf Jas’s show – a combination of family theater with clowning and circus arts;
  • Dwarf Zoo Zone – you will learn about ecological animal conservation efforts;
  • Outdoor Eco Workshops – there will be eco-friendly souvenirs of the festival to make, such as hats, gloves and bracelets (old T-shirts, fabric scraps, holey socks will come in handy);
  • Dwarf City – building with thousands of blocks;
  • Dwarf Game Zone – giant board games;
  • Family city game “Birthday of the Dwarf Festivalius” (registration at dwarves.com);
  • Chillout Zone – Small Stage of the Dwarf Festival: mini-cinema with live music – fairy tales for the youngest accompanied by a multi-instrumentalist; Impro mini-performances – be not only spectators, but also creators of the show; Dwarf Laughter Yoga;
  • Dwarf Summer Cinema – a special screening of an animated film for children; fairy tale reading – Wroclaw actors from the Capitol Music Theater will read fairy tales to you.
  • Dwarf Silent Disco for adult dwarves from 9 pm evenly until midnight.

Saturday also at Mediateka

At the city library in Theater Square, the dwarves played a board game tournament for the Dwarf Cup between 11 am and 2:30 pm – the edition for younger participants

In addition, a festival electric train will run on the Old Town Promenade from 11 am to 5 pm.

Sunday in the market and museums

  • 10:30-11:30 a.m. – the morning began at the Wroclaw City Museum (gathering at the Fredro monument) with Scandinavian myths. There will be stories about dwarfs, giants and Vikings. Classes for children aged 6-12 (+ guardians). Sign up at (Mon-Fri 8am-3pm) at 71 347 16 96 w. 332
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – designing stamps and postcards at the Museum of Post and Telecommunications at 1 Krasinskiego St. Open workshop. Admission to the museum that day is free
  • 12-13.30 – a walk around the market in search of dwarves (gathering at the Fredro monument). For children aged 5-10 years (+ guardians).
  • 12, 14 and 16 o’clock – Movie Gate at Salt Square – experimenting together with liquid nitrogen… and discovering secrets and learning about the habits of dwarves
  • 14 hrs – family workshops at the Ethnographic Museum (111/113 Traugutta St.).

For Preschools

Your mission: there will be white, double-sided, blank, large birthday cards waiting for you. As a group, you come up with and create something special just for me a birthday card for my party. You have one and a half hours to do this. After that time, the committee will choose the most original ideas. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

A true legend among our events - cardboard houses will be waiting for you, and you have to decorate them! Imagination knows no bounds, and that's what you should follow - create, paint, decorate as colorfully as possible! The winning works will be displayed in the Old Town Garden throughout the festival.
