Past editions have been able to attract 165,000 male and female viewers in seven cities. The festival usually lasts about 2 weeks and takes place in cinemas in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdynia, Poznan, Katowice, Lodz and Bydgoszcz. After the cinema screenings, the online edition opens at mdag.co.uk, where selected films are available! The film journeys are accompanied by meetings with the filmmakers_women and heroines_and debates around important topics presented on screen.

Each year, the Millennium Docs Against Gravity program has no shortage of new thematic sections that address issues of particular importance to male and female filmmakers over the past 12 months. The festival keeps its hand on the pulse, sensing trends emerging in the documentary industry. Sections have already included Political Science, On Photography, Investigative Editorial, American Contrasts and Women Change the World.

MDAG is a lure for film lovers and keen observers of social change. This is because during the festival you can watch cinematic gems from Sundance and Berlinale, so in one place you can easily get acquainted with the choices of juries and audiences of the world’s most prestigious film competitions and festivals. Each edition also features retrospectives, that is, proposals from directors from decades ago, as well as the most interesting pictures of Polish documentary cinema, which has long enjoyed a very good reputation.
