Night of the Museums is a cultural event that just a few hours on a selected day in May, and consists of making galleries, museums and cultural institutions accessible at night (or in the afternoon and evening). Admission to all institutions participating in the event is free during the event, but advance registration is required for some facilities or events. The event is popular for its special attractions, such as workshops, meetings and concerts. It’s also a unique opportunity to visit places we perhaps visit too rarely on other days of the year.
Night of the Museums as we know it in Wroclaw has been in place since 2009. Like other European cities, we joined Berlin and Paris, who pioneered the initiative. Currently, the event is held in more than 140 cities in Europe and around the world, attracting large numbers of art and culture lovers.
