Hipoczyściciel (Hippo-Cleaner)

The Wrocław Zoo has a new resident. This time it is not a baby lion or tiger, but... a dwarf.

Unlike other residents, it is not he who needs to be cared for, but he who helps to look after the animals. He is particularly fond of hippos.

There are disputes as to what the dwarf's name actually is. Some argue that it is Hipoczyściel, others insist on the name Zoolog, and for others it is simply Hipek. Like any self-respecting zoo resident, the dwarf has already received a scientific name, Zoognomus hipopotamensis. We promise to ask him personally at the next opportunity how he wishes to be titled.

He is dressed impeccably in a traditional 19th century coat and nurse's cap, and always has a neatly trimmed beard and shiny shoes. He helps look after hippos. With extreme care and precision, he ensures that they are always clean and fragrant. Why this love of cute hippies? Asked about this, Zoolog replied only "no comment”. However, rumour has it that these animals are the only ones who understand dwarven lingo. And since dwarfs are talkative creatures, it's no wonder that Zoolog wanted to make his hard work more enjoyable by chatting with his pupils.
