Data aktualizacji: 2017-05-03

Concerts, picnics, the Long Night of the Museums and delicious Europe on the Fork. This year's May in Wrocław offers a variety of events to nourish both the body and soul.

A series of events begins with 3-Majówka, a festival organised for several years now at Pergola by the Centennial Hall. The festival continues for three days, each day featuring celebrated names and star performers. This year's edition brings The Cranberries with their charismatic leading singer Dolores O’Riordan Burton. The famous duet 5’Nizza gave a show in Wrocław last year. The energising Ukrainians are a guarantee of great entertainment, so their show on 2 May is simply a must. The final day of 3-Majówka brings a variety of pedigree rock bands from Poland, including Kult, Nosowska and Brodka.

The Multimedia Fountain at Pergola is going to dazzle the public as of 1 May. The fountain is one of the greatest Wrocław's attractions, and its features spectacles that dazzle the public with a combination of water, light and sound. Visitors are in for special shows in May.

Pergola will be resonating with music in the afternoons and evenings in May. On 1 May, Wrocław 's Rynek is going to transform into one large rock arena in an attempt to break the Guinness Guitar World Record. The legendary "Hey Joe" will be played by thousands of guitars. The guitar orchestra will be conducted by Leszek Cichoński.

Long Night of the Museums: two hundred events overnight

Join the event and experience a unique atmosphere. People flock every year in front on the museums, art galleries and other art centres. This nocturnal walk, as it were, among the painting by great masters and contemporary artists adds a whole new and mysterious quality to the occasion. The first Long Night of the Museums was organised in 1997 in Berlin, but the idea soon spread all over Europe to reach 120 different cities throughout the continent.

This year's Long Night of the Museums programme (20 May) brings 200 events in 80 different institutions. Since 2009, the Long Night of the Museums regulars in Wrocław have enjoyed the opportunity to explore new places on the museum map of the city, including the Theatre Museum, the Zajezdnia History Centre and the Four Domes' Pavilion. The programme also features minute art galleries and a mobile monument, that is a vintage 1960 Konstal tram.

Picnics, festivals, landmarks

The River Oder is a must at the weekend. The renovated Wrocław river front provides a great venue to relax. There are more and more outdoor locations to enjoy your leisure in Wrocław.

You can visit the ZaZoo Beach by the Oder. Przestrzeń, an outdoor café in Szczytnicki Park, has also transformed after the winter season. A scientific marathon at the Humanitarium's Experimental Gardens in Pracze Odrzańskie is going to entertain children and young people. Almost every weekend Słodowa Island brings a variety of shows, concerts and picnics.

It is worth exploring the vicinity of Wrocław at the weekend. The long weekend simply abounds in picnics, concerts, festivals and other events for the lovers of history and nature or people seeking intriguing stories, nice views and good food. The locations are suitable both for singles and families.

We thoroughly recommend the Arboretum at Wojsławice or the Flower and Art Festival at Książ Castle. History enthusiasts may want to visit Czocha Castle or Fort Srebrna Góra. You can also join a picnic in the Barycz Valley in Milicz, as well as in Lądek Zdrój and Ząbkowice Śląskie.

Great feast by Europe on the Fork

31 May brings another edition of Europe on the Fork, a large open-air festival featuring chefs, food suppliers and eminent restaurateurs. The event comes to a climax with a breakfast served for one thousand diners at the heart of Wrocław's Rynek.

Two greatest Polish food connoisseurs, Robert Makłowicz and Piotr Bikont, have lent their faces to the festival for many years now, but the event also brings an opportunity to engage with a number of eminent chefs from the world over.

Europe on the Fork is not only about fine and delicious dining. It is also about exploring new specialities, dishes and spices. They may come in handy to surprise the family with a new take on the traditional Sunday roast.
