May Day Picnic is a long weekend at the beginning of May. 1st May is Labour Day, 2nd May is Polish Flag Day and 3rd May is Constitution Day; 1st and 3rd May are public holidays. If you take a leave on 2nd May, you can really have a few days of holiday.

Guinness Guitar Record

On 1st May, as every year, Wroclaw inhabitants and guests will make the 15th attempt to beat the Guinness Guitar Record – one of Wroclaw’s symbols in Europe. The official world record has belonged to Wroclaw for years, anyway – it was here that 7,356 guitars played together!

Attraction

As usual during the May Day Picnic, Wroclaw will organise 3-Majówka: the concert at Pergola, the Guinness Guitar Record, which attracts guitar fans from around Poland, and Wroclaw beaches on the Oder are worth visiting, too.

If you visit Wroclaw, do not miss the following attractions: ZOO, Hydropolis, zoo, lookout towers, rope park, Africarium.

Hydropolis

The only water knowledge centre in Poland will be available to visitors. Hydropolis is located in the historic 19th-century underground clean water tank with an area of 4,000 m2. The exhibition is divided into 8 thematic zones. Each of them shows water from a different fascinating perspective.

Kolejkowo. The biggest railway mock-up in Poland

every day from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m., Świebodzki Railway Station

The exhibition is divided into a few parts. We come across the Wroclaw Main Square with faithfully reproduced tenement houses, the Świebodzki Railway Station and blocks of flats at ul. Żmigrodzka. In the centre there is the Kolejkowo.pl station with a replica of the Szwajcarka hostel.

Africarium in the Wroclaw Zoo

The first oceanarium in Poland presenting the fauna of the Dark Continent is an integral part of the Wroclaw Zoological Garden.

Rope Park on Opatowicka Island

The rope Park on Opatowicka Island is a complex of tree-top attractions (bridges, footbridges, nets, wooden platforms, etc.) suspended on steel ropes. The total length is over 1 km. Over 100 different attractions have been mounted on ropes as a sort of obstacle course on a height of 2 to 17 metres.
